Domain Registrations restrictions

It can take up to 5 days for .br domains to be registered.

Multiple .com.br domain names must be purchased from the same company. If you have registered a .com.br domain or multiple domains at different companies, we’ll remove those domain(s) from your cart.

Individuals and companies using a trustee service (which we provide) can register .br domain names with us.

If you or your administrative contact do not have a valid Brazilian address, we provide a trustee service for the registration. The trustee helps you meet the residency requirement and is a third-party vendor. If someone contacts the trustee with an issue regarding your domain name, the trustee contacts us, and then we contact you.

Renewal restrictions

Your .br domain name renews before its expiration date. The renewal date depends on whether you set the domain name to auto-renew or manually renew. We attempt auto-renewal on day one of the month prior to the domain name’s expiration date. If the renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt renewal 10 days later. If that attempt fails, we make a final attempt 10 days later.

For example: Your .com.br domain name expires on October 10. If your domain name does not renew automatically, you can renew it manually by September 20. For automatic renewals, we attempt to renew the domain name on September 1, September 10, and September 20.

If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it by the 20th of the month prior to the expiration date, you can attempt to recover it, and there might be a fee to do so.

Nameserver requirements

All .br domain names must have two authoritative nameservers. Before you register or modify the domain name, you must list only those nameservers in its zone file.

If you want to register a .br domain name with us and use our nameservers, we handle this process for you.

If you want to use your own nameservers, you must set them up before you register or modify the domain name. You must also ensure that they are resolving properly before you assign them to the domain name in our system.

For example, if you want to register coolexample.com.br and use the nameserversns1.coolexample.br and ns2.coolexample.br, then you must list those nameservers in the domain name’s zone file.

After you set up your nameservers and register your domain name, use the instructions in Change nameservers for my domains to set the nameservers in our system.

.ASIA Represents The Asia-Pacific Region

Who can register .asia domains?

If your business, organization, or community group is located in the Asia-Pacific region or if at least one of your domain name contacts resides there, you can register a .asia domain name.

Domain registration can be up to 63 characters, with a minimum of three characters, and can contain letters (a to z), numbers (0 to 9), and hyphens (except at the beginning or end of the domain name). You cannot register domain names with special characters such as & and #. We support Chinese, Japanese, and Korean IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names).

About .asia Domain Names

The .asia top-level domain name (TLD) is an ICANN-sponsored domain name extension that represents the Asia-Pacific region. A .asia domain name gives you exposure to the region as a whole, as opposed to individual countries, such as a .jp or .cn extension. This extension is particularly useful for companies that conduct business in different Asian countries because securing the .asia domain name gives you regional recognition, makes it easier to manage your Web presence, and increases your exposure to the growing number of Internet users in the Asia-Pacific region.

Domain registration and The WHOIS database

If you register a domain name, all your personal information as email address, telephone number, your address… will be stored in The WHOIS database. It means that all your personal information will be seen by others through your domain registration information.

What’s in the WHOIS domain?

The WHOIS database is a searchable list of every single domain currently registered in the world. To find out who owns a particular domain name, all you have to do is type it into the box above. The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) requires accredited registrars like LuckyRegister – Cheap Domain Registration, Domain Hosting Services – to publish the registrant’s contact information, domain creation and expiration dates and other information in the WHOIS listing as soon as a domain is registered.

So everyone can see my information in the WHOIS database ?

The short answer is, yes. The name, address and phone number you submit when you register your domain is publicly accessible by anyone at any time. This may be good news if you have a domain name you’d like to sell. Or it may be bad news if your name and contact info is collected by a spammer, hacker or other cyber-criminal.

We understand the thought of displaying your personal information to the public is alarming – but we’re here to protect and help you! Our affiliate company, Domains By Proxy®, offers a private registration service that lets you list Domain By Proxy’s contact information in the Whois database instead of your own!

For more information, visit our private domain registration and cheap domain registration services.

Millions of .COMs have already been registered. Do you have yours?

One of the very first Top-Level Domains (TLD) established in January 1985, .COM has since grown to become the world’s most popular TLD. Dozens of other TLDs are now available, but no matter how many new extensions may be added, everyone agrees –  .COM is still the “Rodeo Drive of the Web.” (CNNMoney.com) Do you have yours? We offer .COM cheap domain registration $8.99/yr plus free extras

What else can a .COM do?

  • Give you credibility in the online world. .COM is the go-to domain name for anyone looking to establish themselves on the Web.
  • Be purchased by anyone. Although initially intended for use by commercial entities, there are no restrictions on who can register a .COM.

Protect your brand with multiple versions.

  • Register your domains with different TLDs, such as .NET, .BIZ, .CO, and others, to keep competitors from infringing on your brand.

Cheap Domain Registration and 301 or 302 domain redirect

When you register a domain name, if you do not use it for a website, you can forward or mask a domain name to redirect it to another website. You can use either a 301 or 302 redirect.

When you redirect your domain name using a 301 redirect, it sends visitors to the specified site with a “301 Moved Permanently” HTTP response. The HTTP 301 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) the location has permanently moved.

If you use a 301 redirect, you can remove the redirect or change it at any time.

A 302 redirect sends visitors to the specified site indicating a “302 Found” HTTP response. The HTTP 302 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has temporarily moved.

A 301 redirect can provide a long-term solution by pointing your domain registration to business or affiliate sites. A 302 redirect points your domain name to a temporary page while you build your permanent website. The specific redirects help the search engines distinguish how long your website can be viewed at the current location.

If you are interested in registering an expired domain (it is a good idea to own a dream domain with cheap domain registration cost). You may search the Whois for a domain registration and you will see the different status for each domain. There are several domain name status codes that you might see when using Domain Backorders and Monitoring. Most of these are variations of a few basic statuses:

  • ACTIVE — The normal state for a domain name. Active domain names can be used for websites, email, or to register nameservers.
  • REGISTRAR-HOLD — The domain name was placed on hold by the registrar and cannot be used or renewed.
  • REGISTRY-HOLD — The domain name was placed on hold by the registry and cannot be used.
  • REGISTRAR-LOCK — The registrar, often at the request of the domain name registrant, locked the domain name so that its settings cannot be modified.
  • REGISTRY-LOCK — The registry locked the domain name so that its settings cannot be modified.
  • REDEMPTIONPERIOD — The domain name expired, and the registry is waiting for 30 days as a precautionary measure before releasing it.
  • PENDINGRESTORE — A domain name that had expired is being restored to ACTIVE status.
  • PENDINGDELETE — The domain expired and is no longer available for redemption. The registry is about to erase it. A domain name remains in this status for five days before it is deleted.
  • CLIENT_DELETE_PROHIBITED — The registrar locked the domain name so that it cannot be deleted.
  • SERVER_DELETE_PROHIBITED — The registry locked the domain name so that it cannot be deleted.
  • CLIENT_HOLD — The registrar placed the domain name on hold, and it cannot be used.
  • SERVER_HOLD — The registry placed the domain name on hold, and it cannot be used.
  • CLIENT_RENEW_PROHIBITED — The registrar locked the domain name so that it cannot be renewed.
  • SERVER_RENEW_PROHIBITED — The registry has locked the domain name so that it cannot be renewed.
  • CLIENT_TRANSFER_PROHIBITED — The registrar locked the domain name so that it cannot be transferred to another registrar.
  • SERVER_TRANSFER_PROHIBITED — The registry locked the domain name so that it cannot be transferred to another registrar.
  • CLIENT_UPDATE_PROHIBITED — The registrar locked the domain name to prevent its settings from being changed.
  • SERVER_UPDATE_PROHIBITED — The registry locked the domain name to prevent its settings from being changed.
  • INACTIVE — The domain name cannot be used because the nameservers haven’t been entered or there is a problem with the nameservers.
  • OK — The domain name is active and can be used for websites, email, or to register nameservers.
  • PENDING_DELETE — The registration for the domain name is about to be deleted by the registry, as when the domain name expires.
  • PENDING_TRANSFER — The domain name is in the process of being transferred from one registrar to another. It may not be modified during this period.
  • PENDING_VERIFICATION — The registry is creating the domain name record.
